Designed for continuous removal of particulate contaminants and microorganisms from fluids, it features a 304/316L stainless steel housing, quick-release clamps, and precision filter screen (woven wire mesh or sintered mesh). With no dead legs and easy drainage, it fully supports CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Steam-in-Place) cleaning and sterilization — meeting cGMP, FDA, EHEDG, and 3-A sanitary standards.

Sintered mesh: Higher mechanical strength, uniform pore distribution, withstands backflushing. Suitable for high-purity and high-pressure applications.

Q1: What is the difference between a sanitary pipeline filter and a standard Y-strainer?

A: Sanitary pipeline filters are designed with no dead legs, electropolished surfaces (Ra≤0.8μm), and quick-release clamps — making them fully CIP/SIP compatible and compliant with cGMP/FDA/EHEDG standards. Standard Y-strainers have threaded or flanged connections, internal cavities, and rougher surfaces that can trap product and bacteria — not suitable for hygienic applications.

Q2: What filtration rating should I choose?

A: 1-10 microns: Fine filtration for pharmaceutical liquids, pure water, sterile applications (use sintered mesh). 10-50 microns: General process filtration for food/dairy products. 50-200 microns: Coarse filtration for CIP return, ingredient protection. 200-500 microns: Primary protection for pumps and valves. Q3: How do you clean the filter element?

A: The housing and screen are CIP compatible — no disassembly required for standard cleaning cycles. For complete removal of captured particles: remove the screen (tool-free via quick-open clamp), rinse or brush the screen, and reinstall. For sintered mesh screens, backflushing or ultrasonic cleaning is recommended. Always follow your facility's cleaning validation protocol.

Q4: Can the filter be used for steam or high-temperature applications?

A: Yes. The 316L stainless steel housing withstands high temperatures. With PTFE seals, the filter is suitable for SIP (Steam-in-Place) sterilization up to 150°C. For pure steam applications, specify high-temperature seals when ordering.
